Clarissa Explains It All

Clarissa Explains It All

Synopsis of Saturday Morning Show

"Just do it!"

Sometimes the trials and tribulations of teen life are hard to handle. When it comes to juggling school assignments, interesting dates, and even your own family, Clarissa had an explanation for all of it.

Clarissa Darling, the title character of Nickelodeon's Clarissa Explains It All, was a high school student who had to deal with a couple of ex-hippie parents, Janet and Marshall, and an obnoxious younger brother named Ferguson. With the help of her best friend, Sam, Clarissa somehow kept a cool, sometimes sarcastic head through it all—as well as her sense of humor, her eye for fashion and her knack for making sense out of life.

Clarissa explained it all by talking to the camera about her life, her friends, her school, and her family. The spunky teen also had hilarious conversations with Sam, who often climbed through her bedroom window with a ladder to speak with her

Clarissa Explains It All was a smash hit on Nickelodeon from 1991 to 1994, garnering a big following for its star, Melissa Joan Hart. In 1996, Hart was tapped to play the prime-time teen witch, Sabrina, which became an even bigger hit.

Whether fighting for causes as her high school newspaper's editor-in-chief or dealing with her difficult Aunt Mafalda, Clarissa always had an opinion to share, and for four seasons, people listened.
