Chip & Pepper's Cartoon Madness
Synopsis of Saturday Morning Show
Canadian twins Chip and Pepper Foster hosted this variety show for NBC. The two performed comedy sketches, interviewed celebrities and introduced vintage cartoon shorts from the likes of Captain Caveman and Casper. Also along for the ride was sidekick Buzz Belmondo, fresh off his role as "Buzz" on the syndicated sitcom Out of This World.
Chip & Pepper's Cartoon Madness lasted only one season before NBC decided to cut all cartoons from its Saturday morning schedule, resting instead on the live-action likes of Saved By the Bell and California Dreams.
