Synopsis of Saturday Morning Show

True to the title, this show featured a team that searched and rescued. Working from their base at the Alpha Ranch, widower Dr. Bob Donell, his two teenaged children Katy and Jim, and veterinarian Dr. Liz Warren came to the aid of hikers, divers, or any other person or animal caught in a life-threatening situation.

Bob's Uncle Jack made occasional appearances, but he was upstaged by the more colorful members of the Alpha Team—a group of trained animals. Bears, chimps, and other creatures great and small were not only the rescued, but often the rescuers on this short-lived program.

Despite the presence of both danger and animals, something obviously failed to click with young viewers, and Search and Rescue: The Alpha Team left the airwaves only halfway through its 26 produced episodes.
