Pinky, Elmyra and the Brain

Pinky, Elmyra and the Brain

Synopsis of Saturday Morning Show

“The situation’s changed,
for Pinky and the Brain…
Trapped inside a store,
A girl ran in the door,
She bought a discount turtle,
But ended up with more…”

Pinky and the Brain got an unwanted playmate in 1998: Elmyra Duff, a cutesy-wutesy little girl who loooooved her little mousies. After ACME Labs was destroyed, the mice ended up in the home of Elmyra (a former Tiny Toon Adventures star), joining her cat, Mr. Pussy Wussy.

In their new suburban hideout, the duo continued their elaborate plans for world domination, often using Elmyra as their unwitting pawn. The show also introduced new character Rudy Mookich, a nosy neighbor boy who wanted to feed the mice to his pet snake.

Pinky, Elmyra and the Brain stayed true to the “try to take over the world” theme, adding a new recurring gag set up by the Brain’s asking, “Any questions?” (a sample Pinky response: “Just one. If Fred Flintstone knew the giant order of ribs was going to tip over his car, why did he order them every week?”)

The new episodes eventually stopped production, but the would-be dominating duo wasn't done yet. In 1999, the show merged with other Warner Bros. properties to form what was possibly the longest title in cartoon history, The Cat & Birdy Warneroonie Pinky Brainy Big Cartoonie Show.
