Synopsis of Saturday Morning Show
With strange post-apocalyptic powers such as teleportation, clairvoyance, and the ability to increase physical mass at will, the WildC.A.T.S' motley blend of impressive battle prowess and angular good looks took Earth-saving to the level of art.
Based on a popular comic book, WildC.A.T.S was a half-hour animated series about two intergalactic entities battling it out for the good—or evil—of all mankind. Six alien freedom fighters, called Kherubim, were stranded on Earth, where they were forced to combat the cruel intentions of the villainous Daemonites.
The Kheribum were led by Lord Emp, who had taken the alias Jacob Marlowe. From high atop the Halo Enterprises skyscraper, Marlowe dispensed orders to the C.A.T.S (Covert Action Teams) that he had assembled. Marlowe's cyborg bodyguard Spartan (a.k.a. Hadrian) served as field commander, leading a group of Kherubim that included Zealot, Voodoo, Void, WarBlade and a bulky green mass called Maul. The resourceful ex-soldier Grifter was the lone human of the bunch (in addition to being Zealot's lover).
Lord Helspont, a humanoid with a flaming skull, was the leader of the Daemonites, gothic-looking aliens who had the ability to control other people’s minds. By placing a patch on victims' foreheads, the Daemonite creatures could crawl into their heads and slowly take over their host's body.
Despite being a cartoon geared towards children, WildC.A.T.S featured impressive battles scenes, along with a propulsive rock soundtrack, in an effort to appeal to older kids as well. Before the show ended its run, the WildC.A.T.S defeated Helspont and the Daemonites, saving the galaxy and restoring peace on earth.
