Lady Lovelylocks and the Pixietales

Synopsis of Saturday Morning Show
From the people who brought you the Care Bears and The Popples, Lady Lovelylocks and the Pixietails was another attempt to turn adorable greeting card characters into a hit cartoon series. As the title suggested, the entire theme of Lady Lovelylocks was hair. All the characters had a nice head of hair (including the trees), good and evil were determined by hair color, and one's station in society was determined by how manageable one's locks were. Chief among the well-coifed beauties was blonde Lady Lovelylocks, the kindhearted ruler of the Land of Lovelylocks. At the other end of the hair spectrum was the dark-locked Duchess Ravenwaves, who connived to take over the kingdom with the help of her furball lackeys Snags, Hairball and Tanglet. The Lady’s main assistants were Lady Curleycrown (a redhead) and Maiden Fairhair (a brunette), and the darling Pixietails—flying bunny rabbits with names like Pixieshine and Pixiesparkle—also lent a helping paw. Wizard Shining Glory, one of the show's few male characters, narrated the stories, while Prince Strongheart spent most of his time cursed as a dog.Despite the fabulous hairdos and a wide range of dolls and accessories, Lady Lovelylocks and the Pixietales was only on the air for one year, failing to become a “permanent” fixture on daytime TV.
