"Laughter is the best medicine." That was the philosophy of writer and cancer survivor Norman Cousins, who was hired as a consultant on this show about the residents of Itty Bitty City. Also known as Happytown, the city was home to miniature clowns whose purpose was to spread joy throughout the world.
Kids who watched learned the power of positive thinking and the benefits of a good, solid laugh. Intended for pre-schoolers, The Little Clowns of Happytown didn't exactly pack them in. Faced with competition from fellow happy-thinkers like The Smurfs , the clowns faded into happy, smiling memory after one season.
