The New Hanna-Barbera Cartoon Series

Synopsis of Saturday Morning Show
Wally Gator, Touché Turtle, and Lippy the Lion and Hardy Har Har originally came to TV in September, 1962, as The New Hanna-Barbera Cartoon Series, a collection of cartoons from each of the aforementioned stars.
Wally Gator was an Ed Wynn-sounding alligator who wouldn't stay in the zoo, much to the dismay of zookeeper Mr. Twiddles. Wally’s episodes typically showed him escaping his confines and causing mayhem on an unsuspecting public. The show also featured a swingin' theme song:
“Wally Gator is a swingin’ navigator in the swamp!
He’s the greatest percolator when he really starts to romp.
There has never been a greater operator in the swamp!
See ya later, Wally Gator!”
Touché Turtle was the swashbuckling, sword-wielding turtle, who, along with sheepdog sidekick Dum-Dum rescued royalty, children, and animals alike.
Lippy the Lion and Hardy Har Har starred a wisecracking lion and his pal, a laughing hyena who rarely smiled, let alone laughed. Their misadventures typically circled around Lippy’s hair-brained schemes, which always got Hardy into hot water.
“They’re the most lovable, laughable loonies by far,
Lippy the Lion and Hardy Har Har!”
Fifty-two five-minute episodes of each character segment were produced, after which Touché and Lippy pretty much fell off the map. Wally Gator later appeared in Yogi’s Gang and on other Hanna-Barbera "team" cartoons like Scooby's All-Star Laff-A-Lympics.
