The Hudson Brothers Razzle Dazzle Comedy Show
Synopsis of Saturday Morning Show
The Hudson Brothers (Bill, Mark, and Brett, oldest to youngest) were featured on several different shows in the 70's, both in prime time and on Saturday morning: Bonkers, The Hudson Brothers Show, and The Hudson Brothers Razzle Dazzle Comedy Hour. All followed essentially the same format, including songs by the Hudsons, interspersed with comedy sketches and wacky hijinks perpetrated by the brothers and the show's other regulars. One recurring sketch featured Rod Hull with an emu hand-puppet, which would attack any cast member that made fun of it).
The Razzle Dazzle Show originated as a summer nighttime series in July of 1974. After one month in primetime, the decision was made to move the show to Saturday mornings for the upcoming season. The show was produced by the same company as the very successful CBS variety series The Sonny and Cher Show, and featured the same fast pace as that show, as well as the Hudson's other efforts.
Those efforts were for naught, however, as the series was cancelled the following August. The show's first and only season was rerun on Sunday mornings from 1976-77.
