Nothing feels as good as a nice clean towel wrapped around your body when you step out of the shower. Now you can experience that feeling twenty-four-seven with the advent of terry cloth clothing! The athletic lifestyle of the 70’s took the cushy comfort of a towel and made it into tank tops, shorts, shirts, and even sundresses.

Terry cloth was a beachwear fabric for cover-ups in the 50’s, but the 70’s saw terry move into the casual wear sector. Jogging shorts and tank top sets were popular, as were sun jumpers—one-piece shorts/tube top ensembles that were perfect for those humid hours of summer.

Hmm, maybe a bathing suit should be next: a bikini and beach towel all in one…
