The U.S. space program needed a new hero by the mid-70's. That whole moon landing thing was pretty big, but it was sooooo 60's. What they needed was a next-generation, reusable spacecraft, a “Space Shuttle” if you will. Science Club members went gonzo over the prospect (which got bonus points for its name—the Enterprise), and many went gonzo enough to buy this King Seeley lunchbox with matching plastic thermos. Unfortunately, the shuttle itself didn’t actually launch until 1981, and by then most of those Science Club members were too old to carry around their prized shuttle lunchboxes.
