Synopsis of Lunch Box

The 1975 syndicated sci-fi series Space: 1999 didn’t quite have the same cult following as Star Trek, but that didn’t stop the residents of Moonbase Alpha from lending their likenesses to a 1976 lunchbox and matching plastic thermos. Big headshots of Commander John Koenig (Martin Landau) and Dr. Helena Russell (Barbara Bain) dominated the two main sides, little realizing the space action going on behind them: a lunar rover expedition on Koenig’s, a multi-tentacled alien on Russell’s.
