Ringlets

Ringlets

Fashion Synopsis

On one side of the hair game, there were geometric bobs, mile-high beehives, short boyish crops, and stick-straight hippie hair. On the other side battled the sweet styles of feminine frills. Even in the midst of the sexual revolution, some girls still wanted to look like girls, and nothing said innocence like beautiful curly ringlets of hair.

Wigs, falls and hairpieces were normal hair accessories, and simple clip-on ringlets in permanently perfect curls were an easy fix for a less-than-stunning hairstyle. Ringlets hanging from the side of the temples, reminiscent of Shirley Temple’s bouncing moppet top, did more to transport you back to the glory days of childhood than any baby doll dress could do.
