Casper the Friendly Ghost

Synopsis of Lunch Box

A profoundly sad character in animation, Casper the Friendly Ghost first appeared on television in 1950. The sweet and shy ghost who could not make a friend in spite of his most genuine efforts was an enduring character and has played on television in one form or another ever since. In 1966 King Seeley produced this vinyl lunchbox with matching steel & glass thermos. The artwork featured a later incarnation of Casper—one who was able to eventually make some pals—albeit with other ghosts and (pictured on the front panel) Wendy, the Good Witch.
