The Cyclist

Synopsis of Lunch Box
In 1976, The Bad News Bears' bad boy, Kelly, cruised the suburbs on a way-rad dirt bike. Every kid who watched that film saw dirt bikes as salvation from the prison of childhood. Dirt bike tracks were plentiful and most boys dreamed of owning their own little motorized fun machine. At the same time, the development of the Moped (a motorized bicycle complete with pedals), was also enjoying its short-lived existence. Motorized bikes yielded the promise of freedom and choice in self-actualized transportation. In 1979 Aladdin capitalized on the trend with this generic Cyclist metal lunchbox and matching plastic thermos.
