Pigs in Space

Pigs in Space

Synopsis of Lunch Box

Based on a regular (and popular) segment from Jim Henson's The Muppet Show , King Seeley released this Pigs in Space metal lunchbox with matching plastic thermos in 1977. Pigs in Space ham-handedly poked fun at Star Trek and Star Wars both of which dominated a sci-fi hungry cultural landscape in the late 1970's. Featuring photo-realistic scenes taken directly from the show, Pigs in Space is one of the rare instances where a single element of a larger program is the sole feature of the box design.
