Fireball XL-5 Lunch Box

Fireball XL-5 Lunch Box

Synopsis of Lunch Box

By the mid-1960's, the Space Age was in full swing. Science had opened up the universe to the people of the earth and it seemed as though anything was possible. Among the scientific advances of the day, any self-respecting academic would have to include the process of "Supermarionation." One of the earliest practical applications of this complicated scientific discovery was in the Saturday morning live-action marionette program, Fireball XL-5, which premiered in 1964. The show has since become a cult favorite of "supermarionation" fans worldwide. King Seeley, eager to promote science for kids, produced this metal lunchbox with matching plastic thermos in 1964.
