Synopsis of Saturday Morning Show

Three boys, one name. Kind of. The Cartoon Network’s Ed, Edd n Eddy minimized the confusion by referring to Edd as “Double D,” but as a group, the three best friends were known simply as “The Eds.”

The Eds weren’t the most popular kids in their wacky suburban neighborhood—that title belonged to jock Kevin, who thought the Eds were “dorks”—but Ed, Edd, and Eddy were certainly ambitious. In nearly every episode, the boys cooked up some scheme to score enough money to buy jawbreakers.

Edd was the brains of the operation, a natural inventor. Eddy was the egotistical one, forming plans that usually brought more trouble than fortune. As for Ed… well, Ed was the dumb one. And he smelled.

Ed also had a bossy little sister named Sarah, who hung out with a headgear-wearing boy named Jimmy. The rest of the neighborhood kids included foreign exchange student Rolf, the romantically-inclined Kanker Sisters, and Johnny 2x4, whose best friend was a board named Plank.

Created in the zany, manic style pioneered by Ren & Stimpy and others, Ed, Edd n Eddy took kids’ everyday activities and pushed them to the extreme. It was all in good fun, though. The Eds’ schemes always ended in humiliation, but no permanent harm was done.
