Krofft Supershow

Krofft Supershow

Synopsis of Lunch Box

By the mid-1970s, Sid & Marty Krofft had built an empire of live-action Saturday morning television. They were the only show in town. After doing several series as stand-alones, the Kroffts decided to make a showcase series for which they would produce new shows to run in a variety format. The result was The Krofft Supershow, hosted by made-for-television rock stars Kaptain Kool and the Kongs, and then later by Scottish superstars The Bay City Rollers. In between segments of different Krofft live-action shows, the band would perform musical and comedy segments. In 1976 Aladdin produced this metal lunchbox with matching plastic thermos. The main panels of the box depict Electrawoman and Dynagirl on one side, and Wonderbug on the other. The rim panels pictured the other shows, as well as Kaptain Kool and the Kongs.
