Miss America

Synopsis of Lunch Box
In a time when women's liberation was reaching a fever pitch in the United States, there was a serious fight by American industrial forces to enforce a traditional sense of female culture on young girls. Plus, some girls just liked pretty things. So in 1972, Aladdin produced this Miss America metal lunchbox with matching plastic thermos. The images on the box depicted young women who looked as though they had stepped right out of the 1950's in place of more contemporary visions of young women. Miss America's balanced diet consisted of soup, sandwich and socialization.
