Austin won them over and got permission to start on his design, in which he was assisted by a young draughtsman called Stanley Edge who worked from 1921 into 1922 at Austin&#8217;s home.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-212\" href=\"http:\/\/www.skooldays.com\/blog\/austin-seven\/austin-seven\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-212 alignnone\" title=\"Austin Seven in the 1930s\" src=\"http:\/\/skooldays.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/austin-seven.jpg\" alt=\"Austin 7\" width=\"500\" height=\"397\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.skooldays.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/austin-seven.jpg 500w, http:\/\/www.skooldays.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/austin-seven-160x127.jpg 160w, http:\/\/www.skooldays.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/austin-seven-300x238.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.skooldays.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/austin-seven-377x300.jpg 377w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/p><div class=\"e526d1e761560160a119e3b74cb2a974\" data-index=\"1\" style=\"float: none; margin:5px 0 5px 0; text-align:center;\">\nskool\r\n<script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script>\r\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\r\n     style=\"display:block\"\r\n     data-ad-format=\"autorelaxed\"\r\n     data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-1609637348681190\"\r\n     data-ad-slot=\"3558122710\"><\/ins>\r\n<script>\r\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\r\n<\/script>\n<\/div>\n\n<p>Nearly 2500 cars were made in the first year of production (1923), not as many as hoped, but within a few years it\u00a0transformed the fortunes of the Austin Motor Co. By 1939 when production finally ended, 290,000 cars and vans had been made.<\/p>\n<p>Today i have been in contact with the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.austinrepro.com\/\">Austin Reproduction Parts Ltd<\/a>. They\u00a0use modern manufacturing techniques including cnc machining, laser profiling and investment casting which allows us to reproduce items maintaining a high quality standard and fine detail.<\/p>\n<p>Their excellent standards have led to commissions to manufacture parts for other vintage vehicles. MG, Rolls Royce, Alvis and Sunbeam. Which include items such as our world renowned Vintage hose clips.
