Just under 50 Mr Men books were written and 42 Little Miss were the female version written from 1981. The books were written until he died in 1988 with his son continuing the series thereafter.<\/p>\n<p>For many the voice of all Mr. Men was Arthur Lowe who also played Captain Mainwaring in the sitcom Dad&#8217;s Army.
