Snuffy Smith and Krazy Kat&#8221;\u00a0tv cartoons that were created and produced for national tv syndication by\u00a0Paramount\/Famous Studios and by Gene Deitch and Al Brodax.<\/p>\n<p>The program would also feature reruns of The Universal and\u00a0Republic movie serials.<\/p><div class=\"e526d1e761560160a119e3b74cb2a974\" data-index=\"1\" style=\"float: none; margin:5px 0 5px 0; text-align:center;\">\nskool\r\n<script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script>\r\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\r\n     style=\"display:block\"\r\n     data-ad-format=\"autorelaxed\"\r\n     data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-1609637348681190\"\r\n     data-ad-slot=\"3558122710\"><\/ins>\r\n<script>\r\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\r\n<\/script>\n<\/div>\n\n<p>&#8220;The Chuck McCann Show&#8221;became a hit with NYC&#8217;s young\u00a0viewers and it remained on WPIX TV&#8217;s weekday afternoon scheduale..until\u00a0the series was dropped following the Friday July 31,1965 broadcast.<\/p>\n<p>McCann and Ashley left Ch.11 and moved to WNEW TV Ch.5\u00a0..where they revived&#8221;The Chuck McCann Show&#8221; for Ch.5&#8217;s weekday afternoon\u00a0and saturday morning timeslots.<\/p>\n<p>The series backdrop would change..to a junk shop inside of an\u00a0office building.The duo would perform comedy and puppet skits and introduce\u00a0reruns of &#8220;The Space Angel&#8221; and&#8221;Sinbad,Jr.&#8221;TV Cartoons and&#8221;Casper The\u00a0Friendly Ghost&#8221;Movie cartoons.(The WNEW TV Ch.5 NYC version of\u00a0&#8220;The Chuck McCann Show&#8221;was the first NYC based children&#8217;s program to\u00a0screen reruns of &#8220;The Sinbad,Jr&#8221;tv cartoons that were produced first by Sam\u00a0Singer and Telefeatures,Inc. and later by Hanna and Barbera Productions)<\/p>\n<p>McCann and Ashley revived the characters of&#8221;Little Orphan\u00a0Annie&#8221;,&#8221;Dick Tracy&#8221;(Although the characters&#8217; names were changed to\u00a0&#8220;Little Annie Dump&#8221; and &#8220;Dick H.Dump&#8221;),&#8221;Dragon Lady&#8217;s Mama&#8221;\u00a0and&#8221;Wobbles The Silent Tramp Clown&#8221;..McCann would introduce a\u00a0new character to the program&#8221;The Great Bombo Dump&#8221;(A bumbling\u00a0magician and escape artist..whose illusions never worked in a skit titled\u00a0&#8220;You Wanted It? You Got It!&#8221; a parody of ABC TV&#8217;s 1950&#8217;s freak show\u00a0&#8220;You Asked For It!&#8221;)<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Chuck McCann Show&#8221; aired on Ch.5 from Tuesday\u00a0September 7,1965 and Saturday October 9,1965..until the station execs\u00a0closed down Chuck and Paul&#8217;s junk shop following the Friday September 2,\u00a01966 broadcast.<\/p>\n<!--CusAds0-->\n<div style=\"font-size: 0px;
